Fifth Assignment

1. Project of your novel. I still don't know the project of my novel because I'm not done reading it yet. I got an idea but perhaps it's wrong because it can possible change everything at the end of the story. The project of the novel Animal Farm is to make people understand that there are rules everywhere that must be followed in order to live peacefully.

3. How does that conflict contribute to the project of your novel? Since Napoleon is the leader, everyone has to do what he says, even if they don't want to, or is hard to acomplish in order to benefit everyone.

4. What other elements contribute to the project? I believe just allegory, because most of the novel is about following rules and work hard, which is politics.

Fifth Assignment

2. Describe the main conflict in your novel.
The main conflict of my novel is that the animals are getting killed when they get involved with Snowball and when the humans tried to take over the farm. Also when the windmill got destroyed twice, the animals had worked years to build it. Due to all these Napoleon changed some rules that would benefit him more.

Element One Correction

I put in the principle: "Two legs good, four legs bad". I made a mistake there. The principle is: Four legs good, two legs bad".

Fourth Assignment

Find 3 elements in your text that you feel are especially important. The elements you choose could be symbols and/or metaphors and/or allegories and/or characters and/or settings and/or moods and/or plots and/or conflicts. If you've written about an element in class or online, you can use it for this assignment.
- For each element, write what it is and describe it a bit. For example, if you found a symbol, write that it's a symbol, describe where you see it, and describe what it means.
- How do you know that it is what you say it is? For example, if you found a metaphor, how do you know it's a metaphor?
- Describe what each element you chose does in the text. You don't need to describe how that element works in general, you should have already done that. Instead, describe what that particular example does in your book specifically. That is, what's the element's job?
- Do you know the project of your book? If so, what is it?

Element 1:
The animals take over Manor Farm and now named it Animal Farm. Then, the animals established a law saying that all animals are equal. Also, they created the principle "Two legs good, four legs bad". This element in an allegory because it describe politics and a bit of society. Society is involved because the animals are the ones who surround each other, which make them a society or a group. The element's job is to make the animals in the farm strong and united in order to live happy and peaceful.

Element 2:
Boxer says: "Napoleon is always right". Since Boxer believes everything Napoleon says ir right, he does it, and obeys him, because what Napoleon says to do is for benefit of all. That's what Boxer believes. I believe this element is a Symbol because what Boxer says represents "hope" for all of the animals in the farm and a good future for them if they do what Napoleon says (since Napoleon is the leader, he knows more and is more intelligent). This element's job is to give a view to the animals what it would be like if they work hard and do what their leader says.

Element 3:
When the windmill got destroyed, there was a metaphore there that says: "The fruit of all their struggles..." This is a metaphore because their effort is not really a fruit, they are just using a fruit because it takes work and time in order to make a fruit grow. This element job is to make someone understand what it takes in order to get something.

I don't know exactly or maybe not the Project of my book, but I believe that I have an idea of what it is or could be. The project is to make the reader understand that by being organized, behaving, and following orders, everything can end up better. I'm not done reading my book, but that's what it is making me think about it so far. I've read around 75% of the book.

Third Assignment

1. Is your book's story completely original and new? Or, do you recognize pieces of familiar stories in your book?
I think that my book is original, because a farm being kept by their own animals is something weird, and is somenthing that has to be thought in order to know what to writ about.
2. What makes your book's story original, or old news?
The animals learning to sing, to read and write makes the book original, because i think is something that no other book has. Animals learning to sing, read, write and own a farm is not something normal.
3. Do you think that a writer in this day and age can make a completely new story?
Yes, i think that everyone at any age can write a story, even kid(not a baby), even if it's something gotten from other sources, but as long as is written by a self person it's ok so write it.

1: Who do you think is the main character of the novel? What kind of person is the main character? Find several sentences from the book to support your answers.
Mr. Jones I think is the main character, he's a farmer but somewhat irresponsible because he drinks a lot and forgets stuff to do at his farm. Mr Jones forgot to shut the popholes because he was too drunk.

2: Compare yourself to one of the characters in the book. How are you alike and how are you different?
The only characters I know are Mr. Jones and Mrs. Jones. I don't know much about Mrs. Jones but what I know about Mr. Jones is that he's irresponsible and drinks a lot. I don't drink and I don't like farms, so I'm not similiar to Mr. Jones.

3: Pretend that you are the main character of the book. What things do you (the main character) see? What things do you hear? Smell? Taste? How do you feel?
I see a farm full of animals to take care of, feed and clean. I hear animals and i feel bored about it.
